Man United have eyes on Fulham centre-back, Tosin Adarabioyo, though they face heavy competition to sign the player this summer.

Heading into a crucial summer for Manchester United, the position that needs addressing most is centre-half. There’s likely to be major change in that area of the field, with the futures of Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire all up in the air.

The Red Devils have been linked with several central defenders already this summer, with a new name thrown into the mix over the last 24 hours or so; Tosin Adarabioyo.

Currently playing for Fulham, Adarabioyo is attracting interest aplenty ahead of the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

According to HITC, United are among the sides ‘keeping tabs’ on the 26-year-old defender, who’d be available on a free transfer this summer.

Adarabioyo, born in Manchester, would cost nothing, with the central defender currently rebuffing any attempt from Fulham to persuade him to sign a new deal at Craven Cottage. He is set to leave as a free agent after four seasons.

The Red Devils will face stiff competition to sign Adarabioyo, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Everton also keen.

With Profit and Sustainability issues now arising for many clubs in the Premier League, bringing in a quality player like Adarabioyo on a free transfer is more appealing than ever before.

United absolutely need to get younger at the position, with Adarabioyo striking me as someone who can slot in and do an excellent job whenever asked of him. I wouldn’t expect the Englishman to start week-in-week-out, though.

It strikes me as the second of two possible centre-back signings that could be made in one window.

Do you think Tosin Adarabioyo would be an astute signing for Man United? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
