Man United keeping tabs on 26-year-old Bundesliga forward

Patrik Schick is one of the candidates on the list of Man United’s probable target. The Red Devils are yet to bring in a replacement for Ronaldo since the forward’s departure from Old Trafford recently. Man United’s striker problem has been pretty evident as Erik ten Hag has mostly been dependent on his wide footballers for goals. The Dutch boss has preferred Martial and Rashford through the middle at times but none of them is a natural striker which has been felt at times. Man United have missed a lanky presence up top this campaign. They had been tailing Cody Gakpo for quite a long but the striker decided to pursue a move to Liverpool from PSV. Schick signed a deal extension in the summer but he hasn’t been prolific this term. But Patrik does have the quality and ability to thrive in English conditions. Irrespective of their doings in January, Man United are expected to spend significantly on a proper number nine. Man United’s longing for a new number nine has failed miserably with their past recruitments but the influence of Erik ten Hag should prevent the club from repeating their mistakes. Schick would be a natural fit for the Dutch manager’s system and the manager too would love to combine with the centre-forward on a regular basis. But given his contractual obligation, he would command a higher fee than his contemporary strikers.
