Man United are weighing up a bargain summer swoop for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans. The 25-year-old midfielder joined the Foxes in the winter window of 2019 from Monaco, initially on loan. Tielemans has caught a lot of people’s eyes with his stellar displays over the years, pulling the strings for Leicester from the middle of the park. Youri has been one of the best footballers for the Foxes during his tenure, having played over 182 games for Leicester City, and chipping in with 28 goals and 25 assists in the process. However, Belgium international is out of contract in the summer and looks unlikely to pen an extension. The Belgian is also free to negotiate and agree to a pre-contract deal with any teams outside of England this month. As such, he has been available for a transfer away since last summer. And despite links with Arsenal and Newcastle, the Belgian midfielder, surprisingly, ended up staying at Leicester, with no suitors coming forward with a lucrative enough proposal to tempt the Foxes into selling their prized asset well before his deal expiration. Reports have suggested they are prepared to wait longer to sign the former Monaco midfielder on a free transfer and will only come forward with a late bid this month after assessing other options, but this could be a risky strategy with the Red Devils now allegedly in the battle for a summer move as well.
