Man United are among a whole host of sides keen on signing Hull City winger Jaden Philogene.

Manchester United Football Club have often excelled when signing younger players, rather than spending big on marquee additions who arrive at the club with huge pressure on their shoulders.

I’d much prefer to see Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS move this club back to the strategy that has worked so well in the past. Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are the prime examples of youth success.

Today’s transfer rumour from TEAMtalk does indeed link United with a younger player; Jaden Philogene.

According to their information, United are one of the sides interested in signing the ‘exciting’ Championship winger, though the Reds are not alone.

The Old Trafford club are said to be ‘keeping a close eye’ on Philogene’s situation, though Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Everton and Ipswich Town are all interested in the right winger.

The 22-year-old is seeing his stock rise after scoring a ‘rabona’ goal earlier this year, with European eyes looking to bring in Philogene. Apparently, Barcelona have already made a loan offer for the attacker, though the player’s preference is to move to a Premier League club.

Philogene scored twelve goals and added on six assists for Hull City last season, in 32 appearances.

The left-winger would be an astute piece of business if United could get a deal done, though breaking into the team will not be easy. He’ll have Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho to get beyond, unless he fancies trying his hand over on the right.

Do you think a Man United move to sign Jaden Philogene would make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
