Man United are still interested in signing Inter Milan right-back, Denzel Dumfries.

Manchester United’s defence needs a major overhauling. Injuries coupled with major inconsistencies in that area of the field have caused issues galore this term.

Erik ten Hag may or may not be in charge to oversee these changes. That’s something we’ll take care of over the next few months. If he does remain in the job, though, fully expect to see the Red Devils linked with more Dutchmen.

Today’s rumour continues Ten Hag’s trend of looking at players he’s familiar with. It comes from Gazzetta dello Sport, per Sport Witness. They link United with a move to sign Denzel Dumfries.

The right-back has been linked with an Old Trafford move in the past, so you’re probably familiar with his name. GdS have Dumfries’ name on an article of players linked with a potential exit from Inter this summer.

If Dumfries and Inter cannot agree to a renewal, Inter’s plan is to sell the full-back over the next few months, in a deal worth up to £30m.

United are named as the only club interested in signing the 28-year-old, while the interest is apparently reciprocated, as the player ‘would like’ a Reds move.

Dumfries potentially moving to United could hang solely on the future of Ten Hag, though. It feels like the only way the right-back would end up at Old Trafford is if Ten Hag does remain in charge.

The links make sense. United absolutely need more production from that area of the field, while Dumfries is a long-term Ten Hag target as the Reds gaffer looks to continue to surround himself with familiarity.
