Man United are named as one of the clubs interested in signing Vitor Roque from FC Barcelona.

Manchester United are always scouring the market for the top talents within this sport. At the end of the day, the Red Devils have typically fared better when signing younger players, rather than making big-money marquee moves.

Perhaps the latest transfer rumour is a little of both. Forward Vitor Roque is highly thought of by his current club, FC Barcelona, though there’s a chance he could leave.

The man from Brazil has found it tough to break into the Barca team this season, leading to suggestions he could head out on loan. There’s also a chance Roque may not be registered by the Camp Nou club next season due to fair play restrictions. Manager Xavi hasn’t ruled this out as a possibility.

Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness) claim United could look to take advantage of Roque’s situation, with the Reds in the picture for the signing of the top-class 19-year-old talent.

A loan move is looking more likely at this stage, though United are among four clubs who have contacted Roque’s agent to find out more about his current situation.

Any signing of Roque will not be easy, as the player will take some convincing to make the transfer happen. He has no intention of leaving the Catalan club as things stand.

This could be Roque’s agent trying to generate some interest in the player from elsewhere, in order to force Barcelona’s hand into ensuring the young man is given more opportunities at the Camp Nou. It certainly feels like his entourage are dragging the United name into it.
