West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has reportedly almost reached a deal over a transfer to Man United, though a move may have to wait a while.
This is according to a report, which claims that the 22-year-old midfielder’s asking price is as high as £85m, with the Hammers eager not to lose their footballer for anything other than huge money.
The report suggests that West Ham United are even more determined to make a big profit on Declan after seeing Jack Grealish move from Aston Villa to Man City for £100m this transfer window.
Declan is certainly another potentially world-class talent, and the midfielder could be a great fit at a top club like the Red Devils, who’d surely benefit from bringing in an upgrade on footballers like Nemanja Matic and Fred.
Declan has shown his class at West Ham United and also had a crucial role in England’s fantastic run to the final of Euro 2020 this summer. The English midfielder is a fine all-rounder in the middle of the park and already seems like a natural leader, despite his relative youth and inexperience.
The Red Devils being close to agreeing on terms is certainly encouraging for a future deal, but Man United supporters will no doubt be frustrated to hear that this move currently looks unlikely for this summer at least.
