Man United have ‘practically completed’ a new contract for Alejandro Garnacho, who has burst onto the scene this year.

Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United squad is slowly starting to take shape. Credit where it’s due, the Old Trafford club feel like they’re on the rise again.

We’re now learning that talent-wise, the squad was in a good place. They just needed that regimental leader like Ten Hag, who’ll set strict rules and high standards.

He’s a gaffer who isn’t afraid to throw young players into the mix – just ask Alejandro Garnacho.

There has been much speculation about his contract talks of late, which is understandable given his talent and ability.

The latest report on that front comes from AS, who state that United have ‘practically completed’ a new contract for the young star. The deal will run until 2028, with just some minor details about image rights to finalise.

Obviously, tying down Garnacho for five years is huge. The Argentine has an immense future within this sport and I genuinely thought it’d be tough to get him to commit to a new deal. Fair play to United for seemingly getting it done so swiftly.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that Garnacho will stay for the next half-decade, though it does give United at least a few more years of the young sensation while ensuring the Reds will get a sizeable fee for the player when the time is right.

Hopefully, Garnacho can continue to develop under Ten Hag, can keep developing that positive attitude and mindset, turning into the absolute world-beater that we all know he can be.

Do you think Alejandro Garnacho will be a valuable long-term asset for Man United? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
