Man United given triple injury boost, trio of players set to be available for selection for massive game vs Liverpool

Man United are looking good to welcome back a trio of players to the squad for the Liverpool game this weekend.

Manchester United’s season has been a struggle in regard to injuries. Erik ten Hag has been dealing without many key players for prolonged periods of time, making it tough for the gaffer to name a consistent starting line-up.

The Red Devils haven’t had many positive updates in terms of treatment table woes, though there has been some good news on that front today, ahead of what could be classed as the biggest game of the season to this point.

Ten Hag met the media to conduct his typical pre-match press conference, providing United with a triple injury boost. A trio of players are set to be available for selection for the massive game following time out.

Rasmus Hojlund, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire have all returned to training this week, with the gaffer admitting it ‘looks good’ in regard to their chances at being involved.

Check out what the gaffer had to say on the injury front here:

“We had a good week,” he told the media, including ManUtd.com. “All the players you mentioned [Maguire, Wan-Bissaka and Hojlund], they returned on the pitch. Partly in the start of the week and, today, we had a session that they were all training.”

“I think [they’re going to be available]. We have, tomorrow, one session. We have to see how they recover from this tomorrow. But it looks good.”

Obviously, all have been out for different periods. Maguire and Hojlund have both missed a few weeks, meaning it shouldn’t take them long to get back up to speed.

Wan-Bissaka has been sidelined a little longer, though I’d argue having him back is the most important. United have been playing with only one fit full-back over the last few games. That has drastically affected the defence. With the ex-Palace man now back available, it can mean Diogo Dalot will move back over to the left-back position, offering some balance across the back four.

This is following the news that Mason Mount has also been back in training this week. There’s zero chance we see the England midfielder this weekend, mind, as he has been missing for the best part of four months. He is going to need many weeks before he’s ready to be involved.

It goes without saying, this is a game where Ten Hag is potentially trying to save his job. A loss here ends our trophy hopes for the season, which will not go down well with INEOS. Sir Jim Ratcliffe may already be swaying in another direction, but losing in poor manner here could be the final nail in the coffin.
