Man United given huge injury lift, key duo back in training ahead of Arsenal game

Man United have been given a welcome injury boost, with two key faces back in training ahead of the Arsenal game on Sunday.

Manchester United have won just once in their last eight games. This is the sort of form that can get a manager sacked. With an FA Cup final now just a couple of weeks away, you’d like to think the Red Devils can string some positive results together so they go into the game with some confidence…

Well, the dressing room has been boosted in another sense, with a key duo returning to training ahead of the Arsenal clash this coming Sunday.

The official club website confirmed that both Marcus Rashford and Lisandro Martinez were back out with the squad, putting in the effort ahead of the end-of-season run-in.

Rashford has missed some time since the FA Cup semi-final vs Coventry and his absence has been hardfelt. The Reds just haven’t look anywhere near as threatening without him out on the field.

Lisandro Martinez’s injuries this season have been well documented. Despite his best efforts to come back (twice) this season, he’s just not been able to stay fit… Fingers crossed he’s now over those issues.

More than anything, this just bolsters the squad somewhat. The Reds have had to rely heavily on youth to fill out the bench in recent weeks. This is a welcome boost for all involved.

Obviously, Licha won’t be rushed back into action. There was a report suggesting he is hoping to get some minutes under the belt before the FA Cup final, though there’s no chance he starts this weekend. We could possibly see him off the bench late on, but even that feels like a gamble.

Rashford, on the other hand, is more likely to be involved. Again, I don’t expect to see him in the starting line-up, though he has a chance at coming on as a substitute to try and impact the game late on if it’s close.

It’s good to see you, lads!
