Man United get second injury boost in a day as 26-year-old returns to training

Manchester United have been handed a second injury boost in a day as Aaron Wan-Bissaka has returned to training.

Manchester United have been ravaged by injuries all season long, with manager Erik ten Hag rarely able to name his strongest starting XI.

The manager is currently without nine members of his first-team squad but it looks like he could soon be bolstered by two returns.

Double injury boost for United

United have confirmed that defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has become the second player on the injury list to return to training on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old has played just 17 games this season as he’s had two lengthy spells on the sidelines, the latest beginning in January with an unspecified injury.

However, Wan-Bissaka was pictured in full training on Tuesday with his teammates at Carrington.

The news comes after it was announced Mason Mount had also returned to the training field after an even longer absence.

Mount has been out of action since early November and has played just 12 times since his summer move from Chelsea.

When will they return?

It’s not yet been confirmed if Wan-Bissaka and Mount will be available for Sunday’s FA Cup fixture with Liverpool.

Ten Hag will likely be asked for an update in his press conference on Friday but said last week he hopes to have Wan-Bissaka, as well as Rasms Hojlund and Harry Maguire, back for the visit of Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Mount, however, he didn’t expect to have available until after the international break.

As of now, Maguire, Hojlund, Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Omari Forson remain sidelined.
