Man United are behind in the race to sign Michael Olise, with Chelsea hoping to gazump the Red Devils to his signature.

Manchester United Football Club need to make some key additions to the squad this summer. Though that’s easier said than done with money thought to be tight for the Red Devils.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have to nail this window, in order to give the fans a positive first impression about what they can offer as owners.

Several names have been linked with a Reds transfer this summer, while Michael Olise’s name has popped up very often. The Englishman could be available for transfer from Crystal Palace this summer.

Now, the usually reliable @AcademyScoop has provided an update on that front. United are seemingly falling behind in the race to sign the top-class 22-year-old, as London club Chelsea are taking ‘aggressive’ measures to beat the Reds to the transfer. Their efforts are aided by Chelsea’s recruitment specialist, who has a pre-existing relationship with Olise.

There can be no doubt that Olise would be a stunning signing. United have struggled for any sort of production from the right-wing position this season. Antony has struggled. Jadon Sancho hasn’t been here. Alejandro Garnacho is better on the left.

Olise would add some consistency to that area of the field, though I genuinely do not believe the Reds have the sort of budget that’d be required to bring in the Palace man this summer.

You also have to remember that no decision is made on Erik ten Hag’s future. That simply has to be the priority right now, as any potential new manager may have different transfer targets in mind. Again, this falls on United to sort this out quickly.
