Man United believe Facundo Pellistri will be heading out on loan for the rest of the season.
You can tell that Manchester United are trying to hard to trim down the squad due to having significantly fewer games after being dumped out of Europe.
Erik ten Hag has allowed Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek to leave on loan, while youngsters Joe Hugill and Alvaro Fernandez have also departed.
That trend is set to continue, with Facundo Pellistri the latest who is expected to leave on a short-term deal.
It’s the Manchester Evening News with the information. They state that United ‘expect’ the 22-year-old winger to leave on loan this month, despite playing fourteen times for the first-team this season.
Pellistri was actually due to head out on loan in the summer, though he ended up staying at the club after Amad sustained a knee injury. Now, the man from the Ivory Coast is back and available, hence, the Uruguay international will be allowed to depart.
The winger is now off to La Liga club Granada, which will be his third loan since making the move from Penarol back in October 2022.
It does signal a willingness to part ways with Pellistri permanently, assuming the right offer comes in for the wide man. It appears as if Erik ten Hag doesn’t believe in the player enough, despite the fact the Reds have been struggling in that area of the field all season long.
I hope Pellistri goes out there and plays well. In the hope that he can either win himself a permanent move away to a big club, or convince Ten Hag that he is actually good enough to start games at the highest level.
