Man United could cash in on world-class star if ‘right fee’ was offered for his signature: report

Man United could look to sell Marcus Rashford if the right offer came in for the Englishman.

Manchester United Football Club undoubtedly have some huge decisions to make this summer. INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are looking to put their own stamp on the Old Trafford side. What better way to do that by making a bold decision…?

What bigger choice to make than potentially selling United’s poster boy, Marcus Rashford…

That’s a genuine possibility, according to transfer guru Duncan Castles. He says that United could cash in on the world-class star if the ‘right fee’ was offered for his signature.

However, one of the biggest chasers of his signature, PSG, are no longer as keen on signing the Englishman as they once were… Apparently, they view Rashford as an out and out striker, whereas right now, their focus is signing a winger to replace Kylian Mbappe.

Check out what Duncan Castles had to say in full here:

“Alternatives have included Marcus Rashford. A player PSG have pursued for two seasons now and interestingly, he would be available for transfer from Manchester United if the right fee was offered. However, I’m told PSG aren’t focusing on Rashford because Enrique seems him more as a number nine than a left-winger,” Castles said on The Transfers Podcast.

Honestly, I feel like Rashford will be going nowhere. PSG were the only side showing any genuine interest. They’re no longer keen. Only a select few clubs outside of the French club can afford him. So a transfer away probably does not happen.

That is not necessarily a bad thing.

It’s easy to forget that Rashford is still among the most talented players in the business. Yes, he had a poor season. He will now have the motivation to put that right in 2024/25. I firmly believe that.

It also means United have one less position in the side to fill this season. Rashford will lock down that left-wing whenever fit, offering the club consistency in a position where they absolutely need output.
