Man United have confirmed Marcel Sabitzer will wear the number 15 shirt at the club.
Deadline day at Old Trafford was certainly interesting. Manchester United had minimal time to find a replacement for the injured Christian Eriksen, who’ll now spend plenty of time out injured.
In the end, the Red Devils settled on Bayern Munich’s Marcel Sabitzer – who is a fantastic midfielder in his own right.
The new midfielder was spotted at Old Trafford on Wednesday night as the Red Devils progressed into a Carabao Cup final, no doubt watching on and trying to figure out how he can aid this side.
Anyway, not too long after the match, Sabitzer’s new shirt number was officially unveiled by the club. The former RB Leipzig man will wear the number 15 jersey during his stay at the Theatre of Dreams.
Previous wearers of the jersey include the likes of Nemanja Vidic, Adnan Januzaj and most recently, Andreas Pereira. No doubt Sabitzer is hoping to follow in the footsteps of the Serbian, rather than the other two attackers…
In terms of what Sabitzer will bring, he’ll add more energy and dynamism to this United midfield, while he’s also capable of a spectacular goal from distance.
I genuinely feel like this could turn out to be another Ten Hag masterstroke as United were desperate for another body – particularly with the injury to Scott McTominay.
The other point worth noting is that Sabitzer is fit and ready to play as soon as he’s required. He’s been in first-team training with Bayern all season and dipping in and out of their side when needed.
Hopefully, we’ll see him in action soon.
