Man United are keeping a tab on the situation of Sevilla shot-stopper Yassine Bounou and could execute their plan in the summer. Morocco international has been in pretty good form for the last few campaigns. A move for Morocco’s World Cup hero will cost nearly €40m. Having joined the academy of Atletico back in 2012, Bounou did not play a single match for Los Colchoneros. And after a successful loan stint in 2019/20, Sevilla finally signed Yassine from Girona in 2020. His appetite for success coincided with him pretty frequently as the Moroccan has been one of La Liga’s most underrated goalkeepers. The 31-year-old goalkeeper was adjudged the Spanish top-flight’s best shot-stopper last campaign. And the Moroccan goalkeeper has maintained a steady approach this campaign. But that has not helped Sevilla’s fortune as they are currently tottering in the relegation zone. If things do not improve drastically they could be in severe danger when club football resumes this month. Such a situation has also captured the attention of the Red Devils. Man United’s complicated goalkeeping situation has made the recruitment team hunt for a new pair of gloves. And the African goalkeeper, as he is fondly called, suits the profile. The former Girona goalkeeper has already defied the odds as his rate of conceding goals in the World Cup is the lowest so far. In addition, the Moroccan is equally comfortable with his feet, which appeals to Erik ten Hag.
