Man United are believed to be leading the race to sign Michael Olise, should he decide to leave Crystal Palace.
Manchester United Football Club are preparing for a huge summer transfer window. It’s their first under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, as the Failsworth-born businessman wants to start strong and send a message to the Old Trafford Faithful.
At least a few key signings, in important positions, simply have to be made. A right-winger is perhaps considered a priority. Antony has struggled. Alejandro Garnacho is better on the left-hand side, while Jadon Sancho is expected to depart on a permanent transfer.
Among the names linked with filling that void is Michael Olise. The Englishman, who has starred for Crystal Palace since breaking into the first-team, could be an excellent option.
Now, ESPN have provided an update on that front. They state that United are considered ‘front-runners’ for the signing of the exciting 22-year-old. That’s assuming he chooses to leave Crystal Palace this coming summer.
Olise is understood to have a release clause in his contract that becomes active at the end of this season, with United’s leadership group identifying Olise as a ‘key target’ for the rebuild.
Although there is no exact figure in the public domain right now, it’s thought Olise would cost somewhere between £50million and 60million.
United remain ahead of the queue to sign Olise despite not having Champions League football on offer, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be used as a potential makeweight in any deal.
Olise is an unreal footballer. He’s also a brilliant player to watch. However, he’s had injury issues this season and that is a minor worry. The last thing United need is to bring in another player who has treatment table issues.
