Bissouma attracting interest Yves Bissouma has so far notched 98 appearances across all competitions for Graham Potter’s Brighton.
The 24-year-old is confident with the ball at his feet, and more than capable of picking it up from deep to either take players on, or pick out the right pass to a teammate. Bissouma is also a progressive passer who generally avoids the sideways option.
And, at the other end of the pitch, the midfielder’s work rate and stamina allow him to get back and help out defensively.
As part of the current Brighton system, Bissouma is generally fielded as the more defensive-minded central midfield option, alongside the likes of Adam Lallana or Pascal Gross, and has long excelled in his role.
His long-time impressive form for a fairly average side, though, has inevitably begun to pique the interest of superior clubs.
Reports this year have suggested that all of Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal have been keeping a close eye on the Malian.
Liverpool bid for Bissouma And now, with less than a week remaining in the summer transfer window, one of those sides looks to have made a move for the Brighton star.
The Daily Star, citing the Daily Express, claim that Liverpool have submitted a bid for the midfielder, whom Jurgen Klopp is said to have had an interest in for some time now.
Liverpool are understood to be in the market for a midfielder to replace the recently departed Georginio Wijnaldum.
It is not confirmed what the worth of the Reds’ offer was, but Brighton are said to want around £40m for Bissouma, and are under no pressure to sell after already securing £50m for Ben White this summer:
