Dibu and Mac Allister showed up at my house to support me.” He continued, “That shows what we are like in the national team, how we look out for each other. Dibu sent me a message. He said, ‘I’m coming to your house.’ And when he arrived, he said, ‘Look, Mac Allister is coming too .’ ‘Oh well, you handle it,’ I told him.” “It was a really nice moment.” Martinez attributed the great chemistry in the national team to the leadership of Lionel Scaloni and Lionel Messi. “The national team’s coaching staff behaves like human beings. They set aside their roles as coaches or physical trainers and become teammates; that’s the beautiful thing we’ve created as a group.” “I think Leo has something that’s hard to find: composure, balance and tranquillity in moments of maximum tension, like against Mexico, for example.
