Leeds United star Raphinha caught the eye this afternoon, courtesy of an emotional celebration during the club’s meeting with Leicester City.
Barnes restores parity Marcelo Bielsa’s men are currently locked in action at Elland Road.
On the back of a timely upturn in form over the last couple of weeks, the Whites welcomed the aforementioned Leicester to west Yorkshire, aiming to make it seven points from an available nine heading into the international break.
And, when Raphinha opened the scoring with 26 minutes on the clock, Leeds looked well on their way to precisely that.
The Brazilian’s devilish set-piece delivery from the right made its way beyond everyone, including Kasper Schmeichel, and in at the back post, to hand the hosts a deserved lead.
Remarkably, however, within 90 seconds, Leicester were level.
After being set free down the left flank directly from kick-off, Harvey Barnes cut inside to direct a stunning right-footed effort into the far top corner:

Raph follows Ney As outlined above, though, whilst the goals at Elland Road themselves have, in and of themselves, caught the headlines thus far on Sunday, so to did the celebration to the game’s opener.
After seeing his free-kick nestle in the far corner of the Leicester net, Leeds wide-man Raphinha removed his jersey, of course an automatic yellow card in the modern game.
The Brazilian, though, had good reason for doing so.
With evident emotion in his eyes, Raphinha unveiled a message to compatriot and famed singer Marília Mendonça, who sadly passed away in a plane crash days ago:

This comes just 24 hours after fellow Selecao star Neymar did the same, after finding the net in PSG’s downing of Bordeaux:
