La Liga giants suffer transfer blow as United superstar “unwilling to take a wage cut”, PSG also exit the race – report

Manchester United are struggling to offload wantaway forward Marcus Rashford in the January window and it looks like the transfer saga is set to go down to the wire.

Since the Mancunian’s interview about wanting to leave his boyhood club, Ruben Amorim has not afforded him a single minute of action with the head coach going on to recently criticise his training displays.

Given those recent brutal comments and the pair’s shattered relation, it would be a huge mistake for the Englishman to remain which is why he is getting desperate.

AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund have already moved on with the player’s dream club Barcelona yet to make space for his arrival with less than five days to go.

Rashford does not want to take a wage cut

Even if they were to make some space, the England international would have to take a huge pay cut while the Red Devils would have to pay a substantial portion of his wages.

INEOS have already made it clear that they do not want to pay a dime as it was the forward who initiated the exit talks and now, as per TBR Football, the Carrington graduate also has no intention of reducing his wages.

“TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has been informed that while Rashford is unwilling to take a wage cut if he departs the Premier League this month.

“Manchester United’s stance is that they would like a majority of the superstar forward’s earnings to be covered before they sanction a loan deal.”

This further complicates the exit process and Barcelona will struggle to cough up said funds even if Ansu Fati or Eric Garcia were to leave this month.

Alternate options like Juventus have made a late entry into the race while Galatasaray are even prepared to pay his full wages. But the 27-year-old is adamant about joining the Catalans.

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United could provide deadline day solutions but INEOS are unlikely to entertain the thought of strengthening a direct domestic rival.

PSG do not want Rashford anymore

The TBR Football report also mentions that Rashford would like a move to Paris Saint-Germain, who have been long-term admirers of the United No 10.

But after sealing the signing of Kvicha Kvaratshkhelia, they no longer require the services of a left winger.

“Rashford has always dreamt of playing in Spain and eyes a move to Barcelona — while in France, a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain appeals to him.

“As for PSG, they have shown no interest in signing the United winger as sporting director Luis Campos is keen on taking the club in a different direction from their usual model of signing big names.”

An interesting end to the window awaits the Englishman. Time is running out for both him and INEOS, who want his wages off the books and want to maximise his transfer value before a permanent exit in the summer.
