Barcelona’s offer to offload Antoine Griezmann has seen them propose a surprise swap deal with Man United involving defender Victor Lindelof. Blaugrana are in dire straits with regard to their finances and are desperately looking to offload some of their highest earners within the club, with Antoine being one of them.
Griezmann has been offered to multiple PL teams so far this transfer window as Barcelona look to free up room on their wage bill to re-sign Lionel Messi on a new deal. However, there have not been a whole lot of suitors for the French centre-forward as of yet.
There has been some degree of interest from PL champions Man City, and their local rivals Red Devils are also said to have been keeping a close watch on the situation.
And, it seems like the Blaugrana are planning to make the most of the interest that Man United have in Griezmann, by proposing a swap arrangement that would see Antoine move to Man United, while Victor Lindelof switches to Barcelona, with the Red Devils having to pay a little extra cash as well.
Sweden international has had a hit-and-miss career so far at Man United since joining in the summer of 2017. While Lindelof has been a regular fixture in the side, Victor hasn’t always convinced onlookers of his abilities.
And, with the Red Devils now set to sign Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, Lindelof could fall a step down the pecking order of things and the Blaugrana are looking to capitalise on the situation.
