Since the Iraqi authorities declared victory in the war with the militant group In Islam, hundreds of Iraqis have been sentenced to death for joining the group. Only some of them, however, have been executed because the country’s president, Barham Saleh, needs to confirm the death penalty. He, on the other hand, is known for being himself against the death penalty.
