Joshua Zirkzee: Man United stars transfer to Juventus faces one obstacle

Joshua Zirkzee is tipped to leave Manchester United this summer.

While he seems to be linked with a move away almost every transfer window, he has managed to stay put. This time around, however, it seems he will finally leave.

Juventus are so keen on him that they see him and Kolo Muani as the faces of their attack as they look to overhaul their attacking system.

Reports have widely covered Juventus’ efforts to sign him, as well as United’s willingness to strike a deal should a reasonable offer come in.

While the wait continues to see which deal will take Zirkzee back to Italy, a concerning report has emerged.

Jonathan David key to Joshua Zirkzee moving to Juventus

Football Italia reports that the Dutch striker might not land at the Allianz Stadium unless one player moves on first.

They write: “Bianconeri must first offload Jonathan David and then continue pursuing Joshua Zirkzee.”

They go on to explain the issue: “Even if Juventus are open to offers for him, David seems eager to remain in Turin and fight for a starting spot in 2026-27.”

The David situation surely worries United in their bid to let Zirkzee go and sign his upgrade.

Zirkzee out, Vlahovic in

But with more than a month left until the transfer deadline, there is enough time for this deal to be completed.

Interestingly, as Zirkzee moves to Juventus, Old Trafford could welcome Dusan Vlahovic, who is now a free agent after his contract with the Old Lady expired at the end of June.

Reports recently suggested Old Trafford as a likely destination for the Serbian striker.

Zirkzee out, Vlahovic in could certainly be a massive upgrade for United, as the Serbian might be the natural number nine to push Benjamin Sesko to reach his potential.

The Peoples Person Reliability Assessment

Overall credibility: 8/10
Why?

✅: Zirkzee’s transfer links to Juventus have been widely covered, with different reports suggesting that United are not resisting a potential exit and that the player is reportedly keen on the move

✅: Football Italia is a reputable source for Serie A transfer news

✅: After signing Kolo Muani, it makes sense that Zirkzee’s arrival depends on an attacking exit

✅: No official offers from Juventus have yet been reported

TPP view

We believe Juventus’ interest in Manchester United’s forward is genuine. Yet, it makes perfect sense that any deal will only materialise if Jonathan David makes way.
