Lukaku to Chelsea done? After stints at Everton, Manchester United and Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku looks set to return to Chelsea this summer.

The Belgian’s links to the Blues began to truly ramp up earlier this week:

Chelsea are preparing a new bid to sign Romelu Lukaku. Proposal expected around €120/130m after opening bid turned down by Inter [€100m + Marcos Alonso involved in the deal]. 🔵 #CFC

Chelsea are also offering Lukaku a long term contract for €12m net per season as salary.

Then, on Saturday afternoon, transfer expert David Ornstein broke the news that Chelsea had agreed a deal with Inter, to bring Lukaku back to London:

🚨 Chelsea have agreed a deal with Inter Milan to sign Romelu Lukaku. 28yo Belgian striker expected to sign 5yr contract worth ~€12-13m per year. Will return to Stamford Bridge 8yrs after leaving for Everton. With @SJohnsonSport @TheAthleticUK #CFC #Inter https://t.co/ag52OXbZEC

Inter, for their part, already appear to have found a replacement for their top-scorer from the 2020/21 campaign.

Fabrizio Romano has reported on Sunday that the Italian outfit have agreed personal terms with former Manchester City star, Edin Dzeko:

Inter are in talks with AS Roma to sign Edin Dzeko as new striker, confirmed. Personal terms agreed on a two-years contract. Clubs in direct contact to reach an agreement. 🇧🇦 #Inter

AS Roma are already looking for potential replacement if Dzeko deal will go through. @SkySport

Jorginho speaks out on Lukaku As such, whilst Lukaku’s San Siro exit has not yet technically been confirmed, one Chelsea star has nevertheless this weekend spoken out on the 28-year-old.

That man is Jorginho, who has himself enjoyed a sensational year for club and country, winning both the Champions League and Euro 2020.

In turn, when drawn on the possibility of linking up with Lukaku at Chelsea during a recent interview, the midfielder had the following to say:

“A player like Lukaku, who has been doing great, was a champion in Italy, for sure is a player who would contribute a lot.

“Anyone who comes to contribute would be worth it. Let’s see what happens next.”
