“I’ve been hearing his name…”: United line up swoop for classy 24-yo maestro amid uncertainty over Fernandes’ future

Manchester United are reportedly considering snapping up Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller to replace Bruno Fernandes, whose future continues to be shrouded in uncertainty. Fernandes exit on the cards Fernandes has been United’s most influential player since joining the club in 2020, but there are suggestions that his time could be coming to an end. The club opened the door to a potential departure last summer when Saudi Pro League clubs came knocking on the door for his signature. However, Fernandes decided to snub mega-money offers in favour of remaining at Old Trafford and helping the club win trophies. In newly surfaced comments, Fernandes revealed that he was “hurt” by the willingness of United bosses to let him go. He also blasted the decision-makers at Old Trafford for lacking the courage to directly inform him of their transfer stance. A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Al-Ittihad are prepared to return for Fernandes if they receive encouragement that he wants to part ways with United. But there is also interest in him from Europe, with Bayern Munich believed to be keeping tabs on developments. As the situation rumbles on, TEAMtalk reveal that Stiller is a potential replacement for Fernandes. Stiller earmarked to replace Fernandes United’s admiration for Stiller is not new. Ruben Amorim is thought to be a fan of the 24-year-old, who has earned a reputation as one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga. Stiller has impressed with his calm, composed performances, perfectly blending defensive stability with creativity and chance creation. In 24 appearances across all competitions this season, Stiller has managed one goal and six assists. TEAMtalk claim, “If United look outside the Premier League for a Bruno replacement, then I would expect Angelo Stiller to be in the mix as a target.” “For some time now, I have been hearing his name mentioned as a target, but always with the caveat that he would replace Kobbie Mainoo or Fernandes.” “At this rate, both players look like they might leave soon, so at a time when United want more tenacity in the centre of the field, I think Stiller might come into conversations.” “Stiller can play in a deep midfield role, but also create, and if they find another midfielder to go in there too, which will be the plan, then they can start looking at a long-term plan.” Stiller’s contract with Stuttgart expires in 2028, so the club are under no immediate pressure to sell him in the summer.
