‘It’s not bonkers’… Talksport pundit has radical Sir Alex Ferguson suggestion for Man Utd v City FA Cup Final

With just over two weeks to go until Manchester United have an FA Cup final to play, one pundit has made a radical suggestion.

Despite the Premier League form being horrendous for Manchester United, there is still an FA Cup final to look forward to.

Many won’t be excited though after a 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace this past Monday effectively ended the league campaign as injury problems continue.

Facing Manchester City in the cup final is a task which is daunting considering how outclassed United have looked during previous meetings this season.

With this in mind, talkSPORT’s Andy Goldstein has made one suggestion for the game.

Andy Goldstein wants Sir Alex Ferguson to manage Manchester United in the FA Cup final

Speaking on talkSPORT on Thursday, pundit Goldstein had a crazy idea for United’s cup final hopes which happened to include Sir Alex Ferguson.

“He has got something that no one else has!” 🙌

“If Fergie gives a speech United have got every chance!” 😍

“Every Man United fan will agree!” 🤔

“People are gonna go, ‘this is bonkers’ but it’s not bonkers. Manchester United for the FA Cup final against City should have in that dressing room to give the speech beforehand, Sir Alex Ferguson.

“Just for the FA Cup final. That gives Manchester United the best chance to beat Man City. We’re going to lose it anyway.

“He has got something that nobody else has, just by walking into a room he has it. Now imagine you’re sitting there as a player… A Manchester United player born and bred will understand how important he is.

“You bring Sir Alex Ferguson in that dressing room, at Wembley ahead of Manchester United vs Man City, and Fergie gives a speech, United have got every chance.”

This won’t happen but Erik ten Hag can take some pages from Sir Alex’s book

Why Goldstein is talking absolute fiction and the kind of stuff you’d seen in a movie, Erik ten Hag can actually take something from it.

The United boss cannot head to Wembley with any intention other than winning and the best way to do so considering the gulf in quality is probably to park the bus and use Marcus Rashford on the counter attack.

But the bit Ten Hag can take from Goldstein’s comments is that he needs to make this game more than a game for the players.

He must adopt the message we’d all expect Sir Alex to use and make sure nothing is left on the pitch after the whimper United lost in the final with last year.
