Italian club offer United irresistible discount for game-changing striker who would transform Amorim’s side – report

Napoli are willing to offer a discount to Manchester United on Victor Osimhen, the prolific Nigerian striker currently on loan at Galatasaray.

Osimhen is expected to command a €75 million fee in the summer, but according to Naples-based newspaper Il Matino, the Seria A giants could reduce this price if  United lower their valuation of Alejandro Garnacho.

The report also claims that Garnacho has informed United of his preference for a move to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona this month.

Negotiations between the clubs are expected to intensify, with United officials scheduled to meet Napoli representatives to discuss the potential transfer.

Earlier this month, La Repubblica reported that Osimhen declined a January switch to  United, opting to complete his loan spell at Galatasaray instead.

His availability in the summer adds a strategic layer to the ongoing negotiations between the two clubs.

The Nigerian’s scoring prowess would address the Red Devils’ longstanding need for a top-tier forward.

Conversely, Garnacho’s arrival at Napoli would inject youthful flair into their attacking lineup, enhancing their squad depth as they aim to maintain dominance in Serie A and Europe.

As reported yesterday, the Argentine winger has already had a conversation with Napoli manager Antonio Conte.

From a United point of view, a significant discount on Osimhen would prove beneficial in the summer when the club are expected to be looking for a seasoned striker.

The Nigerian has been one of the most sought-after number nines in Europe over the past five years.

Coach Ruben Amorim would be delighted to acquire his services in the summer, that too at a reduced price.
