‘It started coming back’: Yet another Man United player confirms injury, hopes to recover ‘as soon as possible’

Edinson Cavani is the latest in a long line of Man United players to pick up an injury.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hanging onto his job in the Manchester United hot-seat by a thread. Our Baby Faced Assassin continues to deliver poor results and there’s only so much more of that the fans can tolerate.

Right now, he’s off on holiday, no doubt to rest up and recharge the batteries during the international break. Well, when he gets back to Old Trafford, the scene is going to be eerily similar to *that* Will Smith Fresh Prince of Bel-Air meme…

Players are falling left, right and centre. Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane and Paul Pogba have all gone down with issues over the last few weeks.

Edinson Cavani missed the Red Devils’ last game against Manchester City with a sore tendon. Now, El Matador has confirmed the blow, admitting that he’s had treatment on the issue but hopes to ‘recover as soon as possible’.

Check out what Cavani had to say here:

“The issue was like this. Before starting the season, I had discomfort in the tendon,” Cavani told El Observador.

“It made me spend a couple of weeks out until I began to gain some minutes [on the pitch] in my team. I had to go back to the national team, always with a bit of pain, but with the hope that it would disappear.

It was improving but, after Tottenham, it started coming back. They are difficult injuries and I decided to have the treatment so that it does not continue to get worse, and to recover as soon as possible to be fit for my team and the national team.”

This is yet another big blow for a manager who is already under pressure, with now several first-team regulars unavailable for selection.

Although Cavani has been utilised sparingly this term, when he plays, the whole team performs miles better. Having him start alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in that two-striker formation has produced our best football this term.

As of right now, we’re unsure of the severity of the issue. He says it kept him out for a fortnight in the past, but at that point, he didn’t have the treatment. I’d imagine he’ll be out for longer than the fortnight, considering he’s now taken the decision to have whatever the treatment is.

Hopefully, this isn’t another lengthy injury. We’re without Varane for a month and Pogba for longer. Any further long-term issues and we’re in serious trouble…
