Inter plot mega-money move for United’s most gifted midfielder labelled ‘new Pogba’ – report

Inter are considering a bold summer swoop for Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo as part of their squad rejuvenation strategy.

The Nerazzurri are already planning ahead for next season despite being in the thick of the current campaign.

With CEO Giuseppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio exploring multiple market avenues, Calciomercato claims, the club could soon launch a move for one of England’s most promising midfield talents.

Mainoo has emerged as a potential target, with the 19 year old midfielder reportedly among those who could leave Old Trafford as United prepare for a major summer overhaul.

The United academy graduate has impressed during his breakthrough season and is regarded as a key asset for the future at Old Trafford.

However, Inter’s interest reflects their ownership’s broader transfer strategy.

Oaktree Capital, the club’s majority stakeholder, has made it clear that future investments should prioritise young, high-potential players who can grow into first-team stars.

From a stylistic and strategic point of view, Mainoo fits that mould perfectly.

He would not only inject dynamism into Simone Inzaghi’s midfield but also represent a long-term asset for the Nerazzurri.

While a move remains speculative at this stage, reports suggest that Inter are closely monitoring the situation and could make an enquiry if Man United are willing to listen to offers.

The Premier League side are unlikely to let the teenager leave easily, but with a summer of change looming at Old Trafford, no player’s future is entirely guaranteed.

Should United decide to cash in, the Italian giants would be among the most interested suitors—especially if the player himself is open to testing himself in Serie A.

While still in its early stages, this is a transfer story worth keeping an eye on in the months ahead.
