Inter Milan hold talks with Amorim favourite who has decided to leave United this summer – report

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof is reportedly attracting interest from a number of clubs, including Inter Milan, heading into the summer.

The United hierarchy are preparing for a big summer with plans already underway to hand Ruben Amorim a number of top talents to strengthen his squad, who miserably find themselves 14th in the Premier League table.

At the same time, many players are set to depart Old Trafford after failing to impress Amorim. Their exits should help clear the wage bill and raise funds for more arrivals.

One such star is Lindelof, who is in the final few weeks of his contract at United.

The 30-year-old, who joined the Red Devils in 2017 under Jose Mourinho, has been handed limited opportunities by Amorim despite their intriguing connection. The pair spent four years as teammates at Benfica.

The Sweden international has started just four Premier League games this term and received backlash for his performances in recent defeats to Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to CaughtOffside, United are prepared to let Lindelof leave as a free agent at the end of the campaign as they will not offer him a new deal.

Interestingly, it seems he is still highly rated across England and Europe. It is claimed that as many as eight clubs are interested in the centre-back and have made contact to explore his signing.

Champions League semi-finalists Inter are thought to be among his suitors.

However, the Sweden captain wants more gametime and it is difficult to see him playing regularly under Simone Inzaghi, who is blessed with top defenders like Alessandro Bastoni, Benjamin Pavard, and Stefan de Vrij.

Juventus and his former club Benfica are also monitoring the situation but the outlet underline that Lindelof’s priority is to continue in the Premier League.

In England, he has been approached by Fulham, West Ham United, Everton, and Wolves.
