An insight into Arsenal’s priority for the next transfer window has been provided recently.

Arsenal’s squad After another 8th-place finish last time out, it was imperative that Arsenal had a successful summer transfer window.

And, for the most part, the Gunners would do just that.

They would bring in all of Ben White, Martin Odegaard, Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares – all of whom are 23 or younger, showing a clear plan on the part of the north Londoners.

Said signings would also make Arsenal the biggest net spenders of the summer in the English top-flight:

Arsenal’s transfer priority Though most of those signings should prove decent additions, it is still fairly obvious that some work must be done to Arsenal’s squad.

One of the main areas that likely needs to be addressed soon is up top, where both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are set to be out of contract next summer.

Arsenal fans should not threat too much about being left without a solid striking option, however, as football.london reporter Chris Wheatley has recently claimed in a Q&A that Arsenal will try to sign a forward in the winter window and that said position will be prioritised over a midfielder:

Arsenal will try to sign a forward in the next transfer windows. Isak would be a great option and there is certainly interest, although I have personally not heard anything concrete about En-Nesyri. A forward would be prioritised over a midfielder with Lacazette and Nketiah both expected to leave next summer.
