INEOS set to make major U-turn after EL final defeat, Amorim will be absolutely fuming – report

Ruben Amorim could reportedly be forced to include Marcus Rashford into his first-team plans at Manchester United.

United find themselves in a desperate situation following their Europa League final defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao.

The 1-0 loss means the Red Devils will not play in any European competition next season, and will have to tread carefully in the transfer market to ensure there are no PSR concerns.

According to Givemesport, Amorim is due to meet the technical director Jason Wilcox, chief executive Omar Berrada, and the recruitment team over the next few days, and Rashford’s “future will be a major talking point.”

Amorim pushed the 27-year-old star away from United after being left unimpressed with this attitude in December.

The England international accordingly moved to Aston Villa on loan in the winter transfer window.

Rashford has impressed under Unai Emery, notching four goals and six assists in 17 appearances for the Lions. However, it is claimed Villa may not pursue a permanent deal for the United academy product.

Barcelona have been reported to be his dream club but the La Liga giants are yet to make contact with the United board.

As such, Amorim could be compelled to settle differences with Rashford as it is difficult to see United bringing in new attackers without making a number of major sales.

It is stated: “With finances taking a major hit and no Champions League action next season, getting Amorim to patch up his differences with Rashford is believed to be on the agenda.”

Considering his high wages, United may not be able to keep Rashford on the sidelines and sign a new left-sided wide playmaker for Amorim, who has also told Alejandro Garnacho to find a new club this summer.

Erik ten Hag had to also patch things up with Jadon Sancho last summer before the Englishman was loaned out to Chelsea.
