Ineos reject lucrative offer for United star who has “frustrated” Amorim – report

Manchester United’s leadership and Ruben Amorim do not appear to be on the same page. Early today, the Daily Mail suggested that the club’s hierarchy, including Christopher Vivell, are concerned by how easily Amorim’s predictable system and tactics are picked apart. There also seems to be a divide over the club’s transfer strategy during the winter transfer window.  Ruben Amorim frustrated with Manuel Ugarte’s situation Manuel Ugarte joined United from Paris Saint-Germain in 2024. Jason Wilcox, who is now United’s director of football, flew to Paris to reach breakthrough in talks over a deal worth £50.7m. The ex-Sporting CP star has failed to hit the same levels at Old Trafford, struggling with the intensity of the Premier League. The Uruguay international has started just five league games this season, with most of his starts coming due to injuries to Amorim’s preferred midfield options.  According to Teamtalk, Amorim is “frustrated that he has been unable to get the best out of him.” Still, the United head would have to deal with the situation until at least the end of the season. Jason Wilcox blocks Ugarte’s exit It is understood United have “rebuffed advances from intermediaries” working to take Ugarte to Galatasaray. The Turkish champions have allegedly “advanced with talks” with Ugarte’s camp in the last week in a bid to secure his signature. The report states: “Gala’s plan had been to take Ugarte on loan with an option to buy, and they were prepared to pay a hefty loan fee of around £15million (€17.5m).” With both Kobbie Mainoo and Joshua Zirkzee eager to secure mid-season exits, the ex-PSG man has been told that he will not be allowed to leave United this month. It has been previously reported that Amorim is keen to sign his compatriot Ruben Neves from Al-Hilal. However, the Portuguese midfielder is expected to join Real Madrid.  Featured image Carl Recine via Getty Images The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade.
