“I feel sharp and I feel ready”: United star sends transfer message to his suitors ahead of deadline day

Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia has insisted he feels ready to regularly contribute and play games, even as the club contemplates offloading him this month.

Malacia has been limited to just six first-team appearances this season following a serious knee injury that kept him sidelined for more than a year.

The injury required at least two surgeries, which delayed his return to action. It’s believed that United are keen on sanctioning a loan exit for Malacia before transfer deadline day on February 3.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United told him to look for a new team. It was stated that a move is only a matter of time.

It’s understood that there are a number of clubs both in the Premier League and abroad that are interested in taking Malacia for the remainder of the campaign.

A subsequent report claimed that United are willing to include either Malacia or Luke Shaw in a bid to secure the services of Wolverhampton Wanderers player Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Speaking to United’s in-house media, Malacia said, “You always want to play against the best. So that’s why I’m at Manchester United. That’s why you want to play in the Premier League. I’m always prepared. I always want to play good games, so it doesn’t matter against who.”

“I feel sharp and I feel ready. All I want to do is to play football. It’s been a long time so I’m happy to be back.”

Malacia played the entire extra time of United’s recent triumph over Arsenal in the FA Cup. He said about the victory, “It’s always nice. We got the win and playing with 10 men.”

“It was difficult for everyone but I think you could see, in the game, that we played as a team. Everybody was fighting to win and we got the reward in the end.”

“I enjoyed it because the fans give you always like an extra boost because, of course, you could see everybody was tired but, because our fans were there for us, it gives you an extra boost go to again.”

The Netherlands international also came on as a substitute in Thursday’s 2-1 Europa League win over Rangers. He lauded the fans for sticking by the team during a difficult season.

“It’s the hard work. It’s being together as a team and to show it on the pitch, as well, in the games.”

“Of course, it’s all of us. I think it’s the players on the pitch, the staff, the coach, the supporters. It’s like you need to be working like one unit. Sometimes, it’s difficult when you lose or we don’t play well but, at the end of the day, we need to stick together.”

United are back in action on Sunday when they face Marco Silva’s Fulham at Craven Cottage.
