The recent actions of those in a position of power at Premier League giants Chelsea have pushed star defender Antonio Rudiger towards the exit door and into the grips of Real Madrid, according to Spanish reports.
Rudi shining German international Rudiger has of course enjoyed a scintillating opening to the new campaign.
After being brought back in from the cold to establish himself as a key contributor at Chelsea over the 2nd half of last season, the 28-year-old has stepped things up yet another notch to this point in 2021/22.
Rudiger, before a recent injury concern, had played every minute of both the Blues’ Premier League and European campaigns, looking an absolute rock no matter his defensive partner.
In fact, so impressive has the ex-Roma man been that some, including ex-Manchester United stalwart Rio Ferdinand, have begun to point towards a ‘best defender in England’ tag.

Bernabeu bound? In turn, amid the finest stretch of the stopper’s playing career, his contract situation in west London has long marked something of a concern.
Rudiger’s current terms are due to expire next summer, with the player, to this point, having kept his cards close to his chest when it comes to his intentions moving forward.
Such uncertainty, in turn, sparked reports back in September that ‘Rudi’ has been targeted by German heavyweights Bayern Munich, with preliminary talks over the possibility of a free transfer already underway between the two parties.

And now, as outlined above, a fresh insight into the situation has been provided.
The news, however, will likely prove far from reassuring for the Chelsea faithful.
As per Spanish outlet Diario AS, recent developments at Stamford Bridge have only served in easing Rudiger ever-further towards the exit door.
Citing an apparent agreement with Fenerbahce over the January signing of defender Attila Szalai, and the renewal of up-and-coming stopper Trevoh Chalobah’s contract, is is suggested that the foundations have been laid for Rudiger to move on.
The German’s most likely landing spot? Real Madrid.
AS point towards the Chelsea board ‘pushing’ their defensive stalwart towards the Bernabeu, in an increasingly likely free transfer come the season’s end.
Significantly, it is also assured that Rudiger himself is a big fan of both Real as a club, and current Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti.
