‘He’s just a machine’: Manchester United striker target is on fire right now, Ten Hag wants him this summer

Manchester United target Brian Brobbey is being hailed as a ‘machine’ after becoming a goalscoring sensation for Ajax.

It’s still difficult to fully predict United’s summer transfer business right now.

There are so many moving parts; Erik ten Hag’s future, the identity of United’s new recruitment team under Ineos and the Champions League fate will all be huge factors.

United will surely be in the market for another striker no matter what happens though, with Rasmus Hojlund needing some support up top.

A few names have been mentioned but one rumoured target simply can’t stop scoring – and would seemingly be the choice of Ten Hag…

Brian Brobbey on fire

Ajax striker Brian Brobbey is the man in question and he is enjoying a stunning season.

The 22-year-old has now smashed 10 goals and three assists in his last 10 league games for Ajax, becoming an absolute sensation in the Eredivisie.

It’s now 16 goals and seven assists in 24 league games for Ajax this season with Brobbey taking taking his game to another level this season.

The former RB Leipzig man has always had huge potential, but he really seems to be putting it all together this season.

Even opposition managers have been blown away by Brobbey with Fortuna Sittard boss Danny Buijs raving about the Ajax hitman.

Buijs has been quoted as saying that Brobbey is an absolute ‘machine’, praising his physicality whilst suggesting that nobody can outmuscle him.

“I was happy that he didn’t start,” said Buijs. “Then you hope he doesn’t come on either, but he did. He’s just a machine, it’s that simple. Physically, fighting duels with him, that is of little use. Almost everyone is going to lose that,” he added.

Manchester United keen on Brobbey

Reports in January suggested that United have been lining up a move to sign Brobbey at the end of the season.

Ten Hag knows Brobbey from their time together at Ajax and a reunion has been rumoured for a while now.

When Ten Hag left Ajax in 2022, Brobbey even joked that he would want Ten Hag to take him to United within two years.

That may well come true this summer but the question marks over Ten Hag’s future make a deal seem a little tricky.

It’s difficult to imagine United signing Brobbey if Ten Hag has moved on, even with such impressive goalscoring feats in the Netherlands.

Brobbey is a name to keep a close eye on, but we think any move may be tied to Ten Hag’s future.
