PSG could now accept a loan with the possibility of a future permanent transfer for Man United-linked Manuel Ugarte.
Manchester United have addressed two key positions within their squad as more additions could be dependent on player sales.
The next position the Red Devils could look to strengthen is the midfield slot. Let’s be honest, Casemiro looked every bit a struggling 32-year-old at times last term. He needs help in that defensive midfield area.
The man heavily linked with filling that void is Manuel Ugarte. All had gone somewhat quiet on that front over the last week or so.
It seems as though the Reds have been unwilling to bow down to PSG’s demands for the Uruguay international. Seemingly, that has forced the Ligue 1 club into altering their demands.
It’s L’Equipe with the story. they believe that PSG are now open to letting Ugarte leave on loan, with an option to buy for a lucrative transfer fee, as they look to recoup as much money as possible for the 23-year-old.
PSG only signed Ugarte last summer in a deal worth around £50m, though it seems they’re ready to move on from the holding midfielder, making way for the French side to acquire Joao Neves from Benfica.
Bringing in Ugarte on loan could help with Premier League spending rules this summer, while United would be adding a player with genuine quality. However, it’d eat into next summer’s budget if they chose to sign Ugarte permanently.
It all depends on what sort of future fee PSG are asking for. If it’s a huge amount, it could be wise for United to pass up on this deal and look at other potential options.
