Leeds United star Jack Harrison has taken to social media this evening, to provide an explanation for his absence from the club’s squad to face Newcastle United.
Magpies showdown Marcelo Bielsa’s men are set to get their campaign back underway in less than half an hour’s time.
The Whites have made the trip to St. James’ Park for a Premier League clash, aiming to put a less than ideal start to the 2021/22 season firmly behind them.
As things stand, Leeds sit just a point clear of the relegation zone, having scraped together two points from an available twelve thus far.
The Yorkshire outfit’s most recent outing, at home to Liverpool last weekend, saw them put to the sword in altogether concerning fashion, by three goals to nil.

‘Feeling fine’ Ahead of the action getting underway on Tyneside, meanwhile, as is customary, the respective starting line-ups of both sides were unveiled a short time ago.
Marcelo Bielsa, forced to contend with the absences of all of Pascal Struijk (suspended), Diego Llorente (injured) and Robin Koch (injured), opted for the following XI to take on Steve Bruce’s Newcastle:

Upon the Whites’ latest line-up making its way online, however, it quickly became clear that another key member of Bielsa’s ranks was also nowhere to be seen.
The player in question? Jack Harrison.
Wide-man Harrison thoroughly impressed in meetings with the Magpies last season, with his surprise absence this evening having therefore come as quite the blow.
As outlined above, though, the 24-year-old has himself since provided an insight into his current whereabouts.
Unfortunately for club and player alike, Harrison has returned a positive test for Covid-19, and been forced into a period of self isolation as a result:
‘So frustrated to be missing the game due to COVID but I’ll be supporting the boys from home and be back real soon. Thanks for all the well wishes, I’m feeling fine. good luck lads!’
