Hörður Björgvin Magnússon and Arnór Sigurðsson are currently in Campoamor, Spain, where the CSKA Moscow team is in training camp. Hörður showed his kicking ability during training and Arnór Sigurðsson was on the shooting guard in a training match today.
The Icelandic national team members were together in a team in a training match today there as CSKA’s squad was split into two teams. Arnór scored the second of the team’s goals, in a 3-2 loss.
Earlier this week, CSKA published a video on social media where Hörður was in the spotlight. The defender then held the ball behind the end line, dropped it and scored with a fun spin.
The goal can be seen below, but after he scored, Hörður could be heard saying to his teammates “show me the notes”, of course I had already bet with one of them on whether he could score like this.
CSKA players came to Spain 17. January for a month-long stay in the heat during the winter holidays in Russia. The team then plays in 16 – teams the finals of the Russian Cup 17. February and competition in the Russian Premier League resumes a few days later. CSKA is in 2nd place in the division with 37 points after nineteen rounds, four points behind champions Zenit.
Arnór and Hörður should have been able to play five games before the Icelandic national team meets in its first games in the World Cup qualifiers in the second half of March.
