‘Happens for a reason’… Paul Pogba sends message to Manchester United fans about his injury

Paul Pogba is awaiting to find out the full extent of his injury, amid reports claiming he will be out for 8-10 weeks [RMC Sport].

Earlier on Wednesday evening, Pogba posted a video on his Instagram feed, which displayed his leg bandaged as he talked about going for a scan.

Pogba is trying to put a brave face on his injury, but this will keep him sidelined far longer than he would like to be.

Pogba said on the video: “As you can see I got a little injured. Hopefully it’s not too bad. I’ll do a scan to see how bad it is.

“We’re gonna come back strong. We don’t lose the positive vibes. Everything happens for a reason. Thanks for the support.”

Pogba likely out until 2022

BBC Sport report Pogba is expected to miss the rest of 2021 due to the thigh injury sustained in training.

This puts him out of the rest of United’s Champions League group games, along with a chunk of the Premier League season.

When we get to 2022, Pogba will be able to negotiate as a free agent with overseas clubs.

United may also look to sell him, given that January would be the final chance to get a fee, and take the preventative measure of controlling his future destination, to avoid the prospect of him signing with another Premier League club in the summer.

This would mean United may have seen Pogba play his last games for the club against Liverpool and Atalanta.

Those matches would be a dismal way to bow out, with a red card and an error strewn performance.

Pogba’s pride should see him want to get to the end of the season at least and end on a high note, but if United become determined to sell, then we may have seen him in a Red Devils shirt for the final time.
