Guðbergur Reynisson is running for third place in the Independence Party’s primary election in the Southern constituency which will take place on 29. May. He is the chairman of the representative council of the Independence Associations in Reykjanesbær and has served on its board since the year 2012 and as chairman since 2016.
An announcement from Guðbergur also states that he is a member of the party’s central committee and has served on various committees and councils on behalf of the Independence Party, such as the Environment and Transport Committee and the Welfare Committee.
“Guðbergur has been an active fighter through various large interest groups on Facebook, such as Stop here and no further and a Slightly screaming minority. There, he has worked hard for various issues in Suðurnes and followed them up, such as doubling Reykjanesbraut, improving health services and security of electricity supply, but above all for the development of the economy, “says in the announcement.
Guðbergur says the main priorities are employment, transport and health. He was born in 1971, married with four children and has run the company Cargoflutningar ehf. from the year 2009.
He is also the chairman of ÍRB-Íþróttabandalag Reykjanesbæjar and is the former chairman of Hestamannafélag Máni, Akstursíþróttafélag Suðurnesja and Akstursíþróttasamband Íslands.
