Gary Neville believes Manchester United is the only realistic option for Harry Kane if he decides to leave Tottenham Hotspur but wants to stay in England. Kane’s future at Spurs has been the subject of regular speculation since his failed attempt to join Man City back in 2021, and the 29-year-old will once again at the centre of transfer talk come June. United are interested in the striker as Erik ten Hag plans to add a world-class goalscorer to his ranks. The England international’s desire to win major trophies could push him to leave boyhood club Spurs, but with 201 league goals to his name, the forward will no doubt have one eye on Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League record of 260 – with a move to Old Trafford offering a chance at achieving both. He’s a wonderful player and a great professional, and I think if Harry could leave now and you could get him an exit out of there to a club in Manchester, probably United or City, I think he would take that opportunity. “It’s more than likely not going to be City because of their Haaland expenditure and what they’re doing with him. Manchester United are desperate for a centre-forward, Tottenham fans will be furious with me saying I’m going on television trying to get their player to Manchester United. It’s not, it just looks to me that at this moment in time, the most likely move [is United]. “I can’t see him going to Chelsea, the way in which he’s quite loyal to Tottenham and there’s a big rivalry between Tottenham and Chelsea so I don’t see that happening, but they do need a centre-forward. He’s not going to go to Arsenal, again because of the rivalry “So Manchester United is the only option in England for Harry Kane this summer. Bayern Munich has been mentioned, that could happen and I think Daniel Levy would be happier if he was sold internationally. But I think with Harry, if he wants to win trophies, he is going to have to leave Tottenham because Tottenham do struggle with that aspect.” READ NEXT Gary Neville identifies United ‘problem’ and tells Erik ten Hag how to fix it Sheikh Jassim’s father raises doubts over United bid Virgil van Dijk makes ‘nervous’ admission ahead of Liverpool vs United Erik ten Hag gives verdict United quadruple chances Alejandro Garnacho vindicates Erik ten Hag’s in-game call in United win Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.
