“Garnacho can now be considered a new Napoli player”: Italian media drop United bombshell which will devastate fans

Owing to years of inept Glazers rule coupled with last summer’s splurge on players as well as compensation payments made to both Erik ten Hag and Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United are struggling to adhere to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules.

Which is why INEOS are open to moving on big-name players including previously considered untouchable academy graduates like Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho as their sales would constitute pure profit.

The Argentine’s future remains up in the air as he does not seem to be a natural fit in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system with Chelsea and Napoli chasing his signature.

While United’s co-owners are unlikely to strengthen a direct domestic rival, which means the Serie A giants are in pole position and can potentially land the 20-year-old should they match United’s asking price.

Napoli agree Garnacho deal

So far, they have agreed personal terms with the Argentina international but both clubs are far apart in terms of the forward’s valuation.

However, in a shocking update from Area Napoli, United have reportedly agreed to sell Garnacho to Antonio Conte’s side and a medical is scheduled next week.

In fact, Garnacho is expected to feature in Napoli’s game against Juventus next Saturday meaning Sunday’s cameo against Brighton might have been the Carrington graduate’s final appearance in red.

AreaNapoli quote journalist Gerardo Fasano as saying, “The news is very fresh: Napoli and Manchester United have recently finalised the Argentine’s arrival at Antonio Conte’s court.

Garnacho has played his last game for United?

“Alejandro Garnacho can now be considered a new Napoli player, he is ready to undergo medical tests. Only the bureaucratic part needs to be completed.

“He could be available for the match against Juventus. If this is not the case, the striker could be called up for the next match of the Campania team (the one against Roma).”

The report mentions the sale price as 55 million but United were asking for €80 million not too long ago. United are unlikely to sanction a cut-price exit for Garnacho.

It feels like Italian media are jumping the gun with regards to the move and are being mischievous as usual and the player himself has no intention of jumping ship mid-season.
