Game-changing break for Amorim as injured United attacker makes timely return to action ahead of Europa final – report

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has been handed another major lift ahead of the Europa League final, with Joshua Zirkzee also set to make his return from action.

United are set to lock horns with Tottenham Hotspur at San Mames on Wednesday in the high-stakes clash.

An earlier report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Amorim will welcome back the defensive duo of Diogo Dalot and Leny Yoro.

Now, it has emerged that the United head coach will also be boosted by the return of Zirkzee.

Zirkzee has been sidelined since April 13, when he was withdrawn during the 4-1 loss to Newcastle at St James’ Park.

The Netherlands international was playing superbly and actually picked up the injury while on a brilliant surging run. He has been recovering since.

The forward recently shared that he was putting in the work to be fit and ready for the Europa League final. Speaking live on stream with Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, he admitted that while it would be a tough challenge, making it in time wasn’t entirely out of the question.

Now, CentreDevils have revealed that Zirkzee will travel with the rest of the group and is in contention to play.

“We can also reveal that Joshua Zirkzee is alongside them, having been fighting to get back to full fitness.”

“CentreDevils revealed only a week ago that Zirkzee was back to light intensity training on the grass at Carrington.”

“Now it’s understood that the Dutch striker has been taking part in team training over the last few days so is looking good to re-join the squad for their trip to Bilbao.”

It remains to be seen whether Zirkzee starts or will initially be named on the bench.

The 23-year-old’s return is especially positive, as it provides a fresh alternative to the underwhelming Rasmus Hojlund. The Danish striker has struggled throughout the season and heads into the final in poor form. With Chido Obi ineligible for the Europa League and Zirkzee sidelined through injury, United have been left with no choice but to rely on Hojlund.
