Four United women rewarded for outstanding seasons with England call-ups ahead of critical fixtures

Manchester United Women have seen four of their players called up to the England national team.

Sarina Wiegman’s side are preparing to take on Belgium in a double header in the upcoming Nations League fixtures.

England sit second in their group on four points after drawing with Portugal and beating Spain in their opening round of fixtures.

The Red Devils have also enjoyed a successful season as they are in the semi-finals of the FA Cup and joint second in the league, seven points ahead of Manchester City in 4th.

The United defence has been outstanding this year, conceding just nine goals in 17 matches – a league best.

Therefore, it is no surprise that defenders Millie Turner, who has just signed a new deal at the club and Maya Le Tissier have been called up by their national team.

The pair have played every single match this season in the league and have been an integral reason behind Marc Skinner side’s resolute defence.

There have also been call-ups for midfielders Grace Clinton and Ella Toone.

Clinton has been in outstanding form all year in the heart of the United midfield since she returned from her loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur at the start of the season.

Her rise in prominence this year was demonstrated in her outstanding long distance finish against Aston Villa last Sunday.

Toone had a slower start to the season due to injury but she has returned with a bang in 2025, scoring four goals in the league.

England will welcome the Belgians to Ashton Gate on Friday 4th April and will play away on Tuesday 8th April.
