It was reported that interim Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick is going to add Armas to his coach staff.
Armas, 49, was hired as TFC’s new head coach prior to the 2021 season, replacing Greg Vanney. The club managed only one win with two draws and eight losses with Armas as the Reds’ head man, before he was fired on July 4 after a 7-1 loss to DC United. He was replaced by Javier Perez, who has since been replaced by Bob Bradley.
Meanwhile, according to Italian journalist Mauro Piro, TFC’s all-time leading scorer Sebastian Giovinco could be next season rejoining Parma of the Serie B in Italy, where he played on loan from Juventus from 2010-12. Giovinco, who still has a home in the GTA, recently talked with Toronto management on two occasions and reportedly the door is still open, but according to sources the Atomic Ant, who turns 35 in January, asked for too much money.
