Following news Cristiano Ronaldo is leaving Turin, Pep Guardiola quizzed on Man City signing forward in pre-Arsenal press conference

Manchester City vs Arsenal Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off will see Manchester City and Arsenal face off.

The tie, of course, pits Pep Guardiola against one of his former assistants, Mikel Arteta.

Arteta, though, does not have a great recent record vs his old boss. He would beat Pep en route to the 2020 FA Cup. But he has since lost the following three outings against Manchester City.

And with Arsenal having lost their opening two outings of 2021/22 without scoring a single goal, another City victory is predicted this weekend.

Pep Guardiola on Ronaldo Ahead of Saturday’s tie, Pep Guardiola would hold his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.

The Spaniard would be drawn on a number of subjects in his press conference, including Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been linked with Manchester City and is said to have been leaving Turin on Friday afternoon:

Cristiano Ronaldo has left Juventus training center after 40 minutes to say goodbye to his teammates. He only wants to leave the club in the next hours. 🇵🇹🚫 #Ronaldo

NO training today. Ronaldo is waiting for Mendes to bring the official bid as it’s still verbal with Man City.

But when drawn on Ronaldo pre-Arsenal, Pep gave little away:

“I cannot say much. Harry Kane annoucnedhe  continues at his club, exceptional club like Tottenham. Cristiano was at Juventus, I think a Juventus player. Only I can say that in three or four days left in the transfer window everything can happen. In my personal view there are few players, Ronaldo and Messi included, that they decide where they are going to play. They are the leading role in the negotiations. Right now I’m delighted with the squad we have and we’ll stay the same.”

Then, when pressed on comments from Max Allegri that Ronaldo wants to leave Juventus, Pep added:

“I am incredibly happy with the squad I have, more than satisfied. We are the same guys, Sergio leaves Jack arrives. I say the same, these type of players decide. A little bit left because we have to negotiate. Messi decided to go to Paris and he went to Paris. They knock the door, they call. After that I cannot control. I am focussed on what we have to do and the players I have.”
