Eldor Shomurodov joins AS Roma It was thought for a long time that Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka would become Roma’s first summer signing, with the Swiss having been reportedly “close” to a move before since the European Championships.
However, that deal has since come undone, with Xhaka now to thought be offered a new contract in north London and return to Mikel Arteta’s midfield.
Whilst it could all be an attempt to make Roma raise their offer, nothing has been forthcoming as of yet.
Meanwhile, however, the Italian club are set to announce the signing of Uzbekistan forward Eldor Shomurodov from fellow Serie A outfit Genoa.

The deal, as per transfer market journalist Fabrizio Romano, is set to cost Jose Mourinho’s side 20 million euros, adding to the 10 million euros spent on Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
The pair of deals, without significant departures, seemingly makes Roma’s unwillingness to increase their valuation of Granit Xhaka a more permanent issue than a temporary one.
SL Benfica sign Roman Yaremchuk Over to Portugal now, and SL Benfica have announced the signing of Ukrainian forward Roman Yaremchuk, with the fee thought to be around the 20 million euro mark once add-ons have been taken into account.

The 21 year old defender, who impressed for Club Brugge last campaign, has signed a five year deal in Germany, where he will wear the number 6 shirt, previously held by fellow defender Aleksander Dragovic.
With both Sven and Lars Bender announcing their retirement, and Dragovic departing the club, Kossounou could be thrown in at the deep end this campaign, and should Edmond Tapsoba remain next to him, Leverkusen could have one of the most exciting young defensive partnerships in world football.
