“Final details”: Fabrizio Romano confirms United star’s loan move to La Liga is nearly complete

Manchester United’s Antony is close to completing a 6-month loan to Real Betis, with just the “final details” of the deal being discussed.

This is according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who posted the news on his X account this morning.

Romano said:

“Real Betis are closing in on Antony deal with Man United!

“Final details of the agreement being discussed, loan move until June with NO option clause currently included.

Antony has opened doors to the move, Man United will also cover part of the salary.”

The Peoples Person reported yesterday that the move was accelerating but it now seems that it is definitely going to happen.

United have sought reassurances that for the deal to take place, the Brazilian must be given significant minutes by head coach Manuel Pellegrini.

With the loan not having a buy clause and with United paying some of Antony’s salary, fans will be disappointed that the move is unlikely to free up funds for an incoming star this month.

Indeed, Antony’s absence for the remainder of the season will leave the Red Devils extremely light in attacking areas, with Mason Greenwood having already gone, Marcus Rashford being ostracised from the first team and Jadon Sancho on loan at Chelsea, none of whom have been replaced.

Mason Mount’s persistent injury problems are also leaving United a man down.

While Antony was very much a backup to the excellent Amad, any injury or loss of form to the Ivorian will surely leave head coach Ruben Amorim scratching his head looking for a replacement on the right side of the attack.
